Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the leading cause of sudden cardiac arrest in young athletes. HCM is responsible for 36% of deaths in young athletes, and 90% of these deaths occur during athletic events. Providence Hospital will be offering a quick and noninvasive screening at Westwood H.S. on Saturday, August 9th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Reservations are required and the cost is $50.
