The Blazer Volleyball team traveled to Nation Ford High School on Saturday to play some elite teams from South Carolina and North Carolina. The Blazers had a rocky start losing the Charlotte Latin 0-2 and in-state power Gaffney 1-2, but they battled back to defeat York 2-0 to advance in the Silver Bracket where they defeated North Myrtle Beach 2-0, and region rival Lugoff-Elgin, whom they defeated 2-1 to advance to the finals. It was our first victory over Lugoff-Elgin in 6 years. The Blazers faced Nation Ford in the finals. The Blazers looked strong in the first set losing a close game (21-25), dominated in the second set (25-10), but dropped the third set (9-15). Congratulations to senior V'Aira Harris, for being named Ridge View's All-Tournament Player. The teams record now stands at an impressive 13-3.
