Deputy Kristen Polis from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Richland County Sheriff's Department spoke to the freshmen BioHealth and Allied Health Magnet students on August 26th. Deputy Polis provided the students with a mysterious death case to help solve during the 2015-2016 school year. She explained how to process a crime scene including crime scene sketches, photography and evidence collection. The students will work with various Richland County Sheriff Deputies over the course of the year to create a crime scene evidence board and a case report about the mysterious death. Deputy Polis also provided outstanding career advice to the students and reminded the students that math and science are important in any career of law enforcement.
