The Ridge View Girls Track & Field teams competed in the AAAA State Qualifier meet at Spring Valley this past weeken. The Lady Blazers will be sending seven runners to the State Championships. The 4x800 Meter Relay team of Amena Ogbonna, Octavya Brooks, Mya Ray & Johnaida Eliscar qualified as the 5th seed with a time of 9:59.3. Arlicia Bush will attempt to win her 3rd consecutive state tile in the 400 Meter Run as she qualified as the number one seed with a time of 55.57. She will also compete in the 200 Meter Dash (24.56). Johnaida Eliscar also qualified for the 400 Meter Run with a time of 58.42, which was the 2nd best qualifying time. Faith McKie will compete for individual gold medals in the 100 Meter Hurdles (14.86) and the 400 Meter Hurdles (66.40). Lastly, the 4 x 400 Meter Relay team of Johnaida Eliscar, Faith McKie, LaNaya Martin & Arlicia Bush will continue their quest for a 3-peat in the event with the top qualifying time of 3:53.08.
