The Palmetto Boys State program selects young males from each state around the nation to participated in a mock governmental system in order to learn about the American government and politics. For one week, participants have an opportunity to run for and be elected to mock offices at the city, county, and state level. Out of more than 900 rising seniors, Hezekiah Branch, a Scholars Academy for Business and Law Magnet student, and Justin Rose, a student in the Biohealth Magnet, were nominated, interviewed, and selected to participate in this summer's Palmetto Boys State at Anderson University.
