Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team on qualifying for the South Carolina 4A State Championships which will be held at Sandhills Research Center this Saturday, November 5th. The boys qualified by virtue of their 3rd place finish at the 4A Middle State qualifier this past Saturday out of a field of 14 teams. Senior Justin Rose led the team with a 5th place finish in a time of 17:21. Other varsity runners included Brandon Jackson (14th), Jordan Hollis (18th), Dayton Copeland (22nd), Logan Zeis (27th), Andere Siler (55th), and Xavier Jeter (68th).
The Girls Cross Country team placed 8th at the meet. Though not qualifying as a team, freshmen Paola Fernandez did qualify individually for the state meet after placing 38th overall in a time of 24:36. Joining Fernandez on the varsity squad were Jada Mack (61st), Jasmine Sampson (50th), Megan Reardon (51st), Laurel Fite (52nd), Mya Ray (54th), and Mikayla Thomas (61st).
