The Boys Track & Field team qualified for the State Championships in seven events at the AAAA State Qualifying Meet at York High School this past Saturday. The first event of the day was the 4x800 Meter Relay, and the quartet of Kaleb Thomson, Brandon Jackson, Fredrick Sargent and Justin Rose qualified for the State Meet. The 4x100 Meter Relay of Chylon Thomas, Ali Kelley, Jaheem Fordham, and Tyler Mitchell also qualified. Kelley also qualified in two individual events, the 100 and 200 Meter Dashes. In the field, Darnell Grice and Damion Daley qualified in the High Jump and Shot Put, respectively. The day ended with the 4x400 Meter Relay team of Davion Easter, Daniel Green, Latheron Rogers-Anderson, and Vinson Bowman qualifying for state marking the first time in roughly 10 years that all three relay teams qualified for the State Championships. All but one of these young men will be competing in their first state championship meet this Friday and Saturday at Spring Valley H.S. Click on the image for a full schedule of events.
