ATHLETICS: Girls Track & Field Headed to State Meet

Our Girls Track & Field teams competed in the AAAA State Qualifier at York H.S. this past Saturday, and qualified for the State Championships in eight events. The 4x100 Meter Relay of LaNaya Martin, Alliyah Brooks, Camryn Jenkins and Aaliyah Morgan qualified as the 7th seed with a time of 49.81. Alliyah Brooks qualified in the both the 100 Meter and 400 Meter Hurdles with times of 15.89 and 70.89 seconds. LaNaya Martin also qualified as the 5th seed in the 100 Meter Dash by clocking 12.42 seconds. Johnaida Eliscar qualified with the fastest 400 Meter time of 59.20 to go along with her 3rd place mark of 18' 0" in the Long Jump. In the High Jump, the Blazers will be represented by Mekayla Brown, who cleared 5' 0" which made her the 4th seed. The contingent of Alliyah Brooks, LaNaya Martin, Camryn Jenkins and Johnaida Eliscar capped the day by qualifying in the 4x400 Meter Relay by winning their section in a time of 4:11.39. These ladies will compete in the South Carolina AAAA State Championships this Friday and Saturday at Spring Valley High School. Click on the image for a full schedule of the events.
