ACADEMICS: CAT Students Visit FN Manufacturing

Ridge View CAT students within the Engineering track of our grant attended a field study at FN America, a manufacturing corporation that uses a wide variety of engineers in their facility.  Students were introduced to Civil engineers, Industrial engineers, Metallurgical engineers, Mechanical engineers, Electrical engineers and Production engineers.  The common theme throughout the presentations was the need to stick with the Math.  

FN America makes 95% of the issued personal weapons for the US Army and Navy Seals.  They also supply the Columbia PD.  The students were fascinated with the production and CAD design process.    Our hope is that this amazing experience shows them the real world connection between the math in the classroom and the application in reality.  A big thank you goes out to Mr. Greg Butler, CEO and all his amazing staff that made this an awesome experience that our students will never forget!
