Gerald Bracete has been named the next Boys Soccer Coach for the Blazers. Coach Bracete hails from Cayey, Puerto Rico. He is an Army veteran who recently retired in the Columbia area after 20 years of active duty service. He is a graduate student at the College of Nursing, University of South Carolina. He has a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts. Coach “B” as he likes to be called, is fluent in English and Spanish.
Coach Bracete holds the United States Youth Soccer – National “D” License since 2011. He was a travel youth soccer coach in Arizona from 2010 until 2014. He has been an Assistant Soccer Coach and Adviser at RVHS since 2015. Coach Bracete is looking forward to start training and tothis year’s tryouts. He is a passionate soccer enthusiast who enjoys teaching, coaching, playing and watching the sport year round.
“My objective is to teach, guide, lead and coach male high school students who are interested in learning and playing soccer. As the Soccer Head Coach I intend to use the sport to encourage hard work, fair play, teamwork, leadership and perseverance,” says Bracete, “I am really excited and have big plans for the program. No two teams are alike. They change year by year as players arrive at our school or graduate. I want to develop our players and our style of play; The Ridge View way. They will know the game plan and how to execute it”
“Coach Bracete is going to bring an enormous amount of energy, enthusiasm and knowledge to the Ridge View Boys Soccer program.
