The Blazer Academy is a one-year program that strives to help our freshmen make a positive transition into high school. The Academy fosters strong parent-teacher-student relationships through consistent communication and monitoring of students' progress academically, emotionally, and socially. The lead teacher, Mrs. Charlene Cox, and the administrators, Mr. Kenneth Pace and Dr. Marlon Thomas, not only hold high expectations for students' learning and social development, but adopt a caring and supportive approach to student problems.
On May 7th, the Blazer Academy held a Freshmen Informational meeting for the Class of 2023 and their parents. On this night the Blazer Academy team explained the program, discussed the keys to a successful freshmen year, and presented the English and Math summer requirements for all freshmen. There were also several breakout sessions for you to order summer reading books, meet with our other academic and athletic programs, and become a member of our PTSO and SIC parent organizations. It also contains links to the Summer Math Calendar and Summer Reading Program.
