Seniors, It's Time for Your Math & Science Final Exams

Seniors, your Mathematics and Social Studies exams begin today. Your Early Bird classes will meet at the regular time but will not meet tomorrow.  You will have Fine Arts and CATE/Health Science exams tomorrow.

ACTIVITIES: GratiTuesday is Today

The Ridge View Chapters of the National Art Honor Society and the National Beta Club are partnering to bring you GratiTuesday on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Today, students can create cards to send to soldiers. We ask that all students come out to the main hallway during lunch to kick off this amazing community service project as we make greeting cards and offer words of encouragement for our troops.

Wellness Wisdom #9: Exercise to Fight Addictions

Did you know that exercising can help fight addictions? The endorphin rush released during exercise acts on the same neural pathways as addictive substances. The result? In a study, mice opted for the treadmill over the high from an amphetamine-laced solution, suggesting that humans could do the same. This Wellness Wisdom tip is brought to you by the Ridge View Wellness Council.

ATHLETICS: Lady Blazers Set New 4 x 400 State Record

Congratulations to the Ridge View Girls Track & Field team on placing 5th overall at the State Championship Meet this past weekend, and for setting a new state record in the 4 x 400 Meter Relay. The team was led by Junior Arlicia Bush who won the State Championship in the 400 Meter Dash (54.42), placed 3rd in the 200 Meter Dash (24.50), and was a member of the 3rd place 4 x 100 Meter Relay (47.81) and the state record setting 4 x 400 Meter Relay (3:48.81). Junior Faith McKie placed 3rd in the 400 Meter Hurdles (64.34), and freshman Johnaida Eliscar placed 6th in the 400 Meter Dash (57.82). McKie and Eliscar also joined Bush and freshman Lanaya Martin on the 4 x 400 team. For more information, click on the image for coverage by The State newspaper.

ARTS: Blazerville Mural in Progress

Some of our AP Studio Arts students have been painting a mural advertising Blazerville, our school store. Thank you art students in helping us advertise Blazerville. Students are Encouraged to drop by and see what the school store has to offer on C-Hall before school and during lunch.
