On Monday, sophomore Scholars Academy students competed in the regional National History Day competition at the South Carolina State Museum. Congratulations to the following students who placed in the regional competition:
- Tyler Altman in the Individual Performance category for his performance titled "The Exchange of Percussion Techniques from the Beginning to Present."
- Bernard Hasan, Queen Trapp and Madison Bush in the Group Documentary category for their documentary titled "African-American Contributions to Innovation in America."
- Malika Lightbourne, Madison Stone and Priya George in the Group Documentary category for their documentary titled "The Women of the 1920's."
These students will compete in the state round in April with a chance to qualify for the national competition in Washington, D.C. in May. Special thanks to AP World History teacher Jennifer Borowiec for guiding these students throughout this process.
