The Lady Blazers Track & Field team also completed at the Armed Forces Cavalier Relays at Richland Northeast last weekend. Here are some of the top performances from the meet:
- 1st Place: 4 x 100 Meter Shuttle Hurdles Relay (1:11.37) of Faith McKie, Chloe McPhatter, Keianna Benson & Alliyah Brooks
- 1st Place: x x 200 Meter Relay (1:47.19) of Arlicia Bush, Amarah Cooks, LaNaya Martin & Johnida Eliscar
- 2nd Place: LaNaya Martin in the 100 Meter Dash
- 2nd Place: 4 x 400 Meter Relay of Jaylin Mitchell, Mekayla Brown, Keianna Benson & Camryn Jenkins
- 3rd Place: the 4x100 Meter Relay (51.10) of Trinity Yates, Mekayla Brown, Jaylin Mitchell & Camryn Jenkins
- 3rd Place: 4x800 Meter Relay of Octavya Brooks, Amena Ogbonna, Mya Ray & Jasmine Sampson
- 4th Place: Amena Ogbonna in the 1600 Meter Run (6:06)
- 4th Place: Joy Vankallen in the Shot Put
The highlight of the day came in the 800 Meter Spring Relay, where Arlicia Bush, Amarrah Cooks, Alliyah Brooks and Faith McKie took the gold medal in at time of 1:49.41 and qualified for the New Balance High School Outdoor Nationals in the process. The girls will also be competing against Blythewood at home this evening starting at 5:30 pm.
