Ridge View Seniors Kaci Merriwether-Hawkins and Ronteona Willis, members of the Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Emeralds of Excellence Scholarship Program volunteered on February 26th along with other members of the program to organize the beautiful gowns and accessories for the Cinderella Project, which offers free prom dresses and accessories to high school girls to help lessen the financial burden of attending the prom for teens here in the Midlands. More than 2,000 donated dresses were available to shoppers on February 27th at Brookland Baptist Church in West Columbia. The South Carolina Bar's Young Lawyer Association and the Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority sponsor the event every year in an effort to support teens and their families.
