In the second match of the evening, the Irmo Yellow Jackets were too much, dispatching the Blazers with a 72-6 victory. Lastly, wrestling the host Midland Valley Mustangs was a competitive affair. The Blazers leaned on dominant performances by Lorenza Waiters, Jurnee Dunbar, and Ben Maco to keep it competitive, ultimately losing 44-30.
Standout performers for the Blazers were Ben Maco (3-0), Quentin Joseph (2-1) and Jurnee Dunbar (1-0). The team is now 6-14 on the season, 1-0 in Region 3-4A competition. The team is now focusing on getting into the right weight classes to make a push to return to the playoffs for the first time in 5 years.
