"Drug Facts @ Sandhill" Shatter the Myths Public Forum will be held on Saturday, February 1st from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at the 494-5 Town Center Place (formerly Pet Basics) at the Village at Sandhill. This event is sponsored by the Fairfield and Sandhill 4-H Teen Leadership Clubs as part of National Drug Facts Week.
What is National Drug Facts Week? National Drug Facts Week was launched in 2010 by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), part of the National Institutes of Health. To counteract the myths they get from the internet, TV, movies, music, or from friends, NIDA scientist wants to stimulate events in communities so teens can learn what science has taught us about drug abuse and addiction.
National Drug Facts Week is held Monday, January 27 to Sunday, February 2, 2014. This is an opportunity for teens to shatter the myths about drugs and drug abuse. The forum will offer awareness and preventative strategies regarding tobacco and alcohol use. In support of this event, a panel of representatives from the Alcohol and Drug Commission, local hospitals, and law enforcement will field questions and concerns from the audience. SC Health Rocks 4-H Healthy Lifestyles Programs will supply information on alternatives to risky behaviors.
